App Permissions
Some of our customers have expressed concerns about what permissions our apps use. We wish they would have emailed us with this concern rather than give us a 1 star rating. We would have been happy to tell them what the permissions are and why we need to make use of them.
Here are the permissions you will see when you install any of our apps and why we need them:
Network Communications
We are using an Operating System library called the .NET library for a number of capabilities. One is internet access. We are using Google's developer marketing services and this requires your device to have internet access so a license check can be made when you start up our apps. Our apps will still start up OK if you don't have internet access, but this capability is there in our apps to check that you are a licensed user.
Future features that we have planned will require this .NET library so it is a core part of our apps.
Phone Calls
We use the Phone Library of the Operating System to do things that are not related to making a phone call. In fact, our apps make no phone calls at all. But to do things like adjust the screen brightness and changing the volume is done through this Phone library of all things. So, that's the only reason we use it.
Storage
We create and use a data file to hold your app settings for screen brightness and volume. We do not obtain any personal information from your phone or tablet at all and we certainly don't store such information. We do NOTmodify or delete any information you may have stored on your device or on your SD card.
System Tools
We do need to modify global system settings so that when you change screen brightness or change the volume, you are changing it for your entire device and not just while you have our app open. In other words, when you exit our apps, the settings will remain. This capability requires us to access the system tools of the Operating System.
Default
Default access to the Operating System allows us to modify secure system settings but none of our apps do and we have no plans to do so in the future. Since this is a default access, it is there, but we don't use it.
If you have any questions or concerns on this topic please email us (support@TinyAppFactory.com) and give us an opportunity to address your concerns before just blindly giving us a 1 star rating. Thank you.
